Design your own shoes? A dream come true!

Thinkstock78053992_SSBLOG_FASHION_designshoesLike every other red-blooded woman, I love shoes. So when I heard about Milkandhoney.com, a year-old site that features a section where you can design your own shoes, I couldn't resist.

It was like grown-up playtime! They give you basic styles to choose from—pumps, platforms, strappy sandals, wedges, and more. Then you pick the material (leather or patent); the straps, the trim, doodads (bows, cut-outs, rhinestones), and the heel (the same or a contrasting color).

And when I read the user reviews, people who did this loved their own creations—a lot of them cyber-crafted their own wedding shoes.

This is one of a few design-your-own-shoe sites out there. Also check out Shoesofprey.com for more DIY fun. And if you're in the market for one-of-a-kind sneakers, check out Converse.com and Nike.com for more custom-made fun.
